Google Docs is a web-based application that is provided by Google under the Google suite or G Suite. You can add page numbers in Google Doc’s MLA page by first adding the header or footer to the document. After adding the footer to your document, you can now add page numbers in your header by going through the “Page Number” option from the “Insert” option in the menu bar.

This method is used to add page numbers in Google Docs when you want to start adding the numbers from a specific page. Google Doc gives you the option to do that from the menu. Use this method whenever you want to exclude some initial pages that constitute of the front pages and indexes.
Third and the final method is used to add the page count of the whole document in Google Doc. If you want to display the size of the document then you can use this method given below to do so.

With the use of more options, you can customize your document and add the page number to wherever you want. The “More Options” tab has options to add page number from different positions. It also will give you the option of keeping the page number at either header or at the footer. Moreover, you can start page numbering from whichever page you want to add.
