1. Check Your Hardware Connections

When your Discord mic not working, first see that your microphone is properly connected. With any type of microphone, be it a USB, a 3.5mm headset, or a Bluetooth one, make sure the connection is secure. For USB microphones, try plugging them into a different USB port. For wired microphones, check that the 3.5mm jack is in the right port. If you’re using a wireless mic, check that it is paired with your device.

2. Try Your Microphone in Other Applications

Test out your microphone in apps like Zoom, Skype, or the built-in voice recorder on your computer. If the mic works in those apps but not in Discord, the issue is likely in Discord’s settings. 3. Verify Discord Settings

7. Turn off Exclusive Mode for your mic

Sometimes applications take over your microphone completely, which in turn prevents Discord is unable to using it. To fix:

  • Click on the Sound icon in your taskbar and go to Sounds.
  • Go to the Recordings tab, right-click your microphone, and choose Properties.
  • In the Advanced tab, turn off the option for Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device.

8. Restart Your Computer or Discord
